Paweł Gugała
Adwokat.
Abstract

This text is a brief discussion of the methods used in translation studies and jurilinguistics to translate legal terms. The author uses Polish and German language terms to present examples of using functional, descriptive and literal equivalents, as well as the criteria for inventing legal neologisms. He also notes the need for taking into account the context when choosing and appropriate equivalent.
