Abstract

The present article focuses on the issue of corporate codes of conduct and their role in the process of shaping ethical standards among employees of transnational corporations. The author analyses both the genesis of this type of regulations and their evolution in the context of the last decades. The author puts a special emphasis on practical issues connected with the implementation and execution of ethical rules resulting from relevant documents, which should be qualified as instruments of the so-called soft law. It should be noted that the present article does not cover the issue of codes of professional ethics typical for certain professions and codes of conduct, which were not formulated by transnational corporations, for in view of its distinct character they require a separate study.
