Abstract

The article focuses on an analysis of legal requirements associated with providing access to users’ payment accounts and for providers of payment initiation services (PIS) and account information service (AIS) who use dedicated access programming interfaces (API). The discussion is aimed at determining what types of API functionalities should be qualified as barriers to providing PIS and AIS services under the applicable regulations.
