Abstract

The article discusses the amendment to the Penal Code adopted on 7 July 2022. This Act introduced a number of changes to the general part of the Penal Code regarding the rules of sentencing, both in the provisions on individual penalties and in Art. 53 of the Penal Code on general sentencing directives. The direction of these changes is aimed at tightening criminal liability, which is of particular importance as regards the lower limits of punishment. Therefore, the direction of this amendment should be assessed negatively.
