Abstract
This article is a contribution to the discussion on looking for an optimum shape of regulations concerning the information security administrator. The first part of the article outlines the origin and development of ISA legal regulation against the background of European standards, with some references to legal regulations of selected countries. Further on, the present legal status and selected problems relative thereto have been discussed. Then, the author notes planned changes relating to the ISA both in the national legal system as well as the EU level. The article ends with the summary of major conclusions deriving from the presented analyses.
