Abstract

The purpose of the article is to present the issue of financial sanctions imposed for violation of the provisions of the Public Procurement Law and provided for in this Act. The article is divided into two parts. The first part analyses financial penalties imposed by the National Appeal Chamber, whereas the second part, fines imposed by the President of the Public Procurement Office. In addition to general information on the reasons why financial penalties and fines have been introduced to the Polish public procurement system and a description of its nature, the article provides detailed information on the reasons for their occurrence. Furthermore, the procedures for and amounts of fines are analysed. The article also offers information on practical application of the analysed financial sanctions by competent authorities.
