The right to be “offline”

Abstract

The author presents how the European Parliament and/or the Council will formulate the Directive regarding the right to be offline. He analyses the subject matter and scope of minimum requirements that enable the workers to use digital tools regarding work issues without violation of balance between offline work and rest. He also discusses the means of implementation of the right to be offline and points towards protection against adverse treatment by employers regarding rest.
