Abstract
The article discusses the issue of implementing artificial intelligence systems based on the cloud computing technology. The authors try to place such solutions in the current regulatory reality (AIAct), with particular emphasis on the EU and national financial sector regulations (DORA, cloud communication of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority). The first part of the article presents a discussion of a more theoretical nature, balance the potential benefits and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence based on the already known and widely used cloud computing technology. The discussion concerns both the legal and technological spheres. Further on, the discussion takes a more practical form. By referring to specific financial sector regulations, the authors try to indicate the possible applications of schemes already developed in companies in the context of new regulations (AI Act, DORA). In order to better illustrate the issue, a case study also discusses an example of AI tools offered by one of the leading global cloud service providers.
