Data Act and personal data protection

Abstract
The article discusses selected aspects of personal data protection covered by the Data Act. In the initial part of the study, the reasons for its adoption, objectives as well as the objective and subjective scope of the Data Act have been outlined. Subsequently, terminology has been explained and basic legal structures contained in the Data Act have been discussed. The analyses contained in the further part of the article are focused on issues related to personal data protection, including the relation between the Data Act and data protection regulations, the importance of the general rules for data processing and selected detailed issues. In the final part of the study, issues that arouse doubts and may be a source of problems have been indicated.
