Abstract

The police use drones to search for missing persons, observe and measure traffic volume, trail suspects, detect and document offences, and monitor mass events. The possibility of taking photographs and recording various types of events raises questions as to the permissible scope of surveillance of citizens by law enforcement authorities. This study has been devoted to analysing the use of police drones to collect data during their flight mainly from the point of view of personal data protection.
