Economic efficiency of public procurement

Abstract

The article examines the principle of economic efficiency, which originates from economic sciences, in the context of public procurement and the tools that allow contracting authorities to implement them in practice. The key issues related to the evaluation of the effectiveness of public procurement were explained. Two dimensions of evaluating the level of efficiency have been discussed, one in a broad and one in a narrow research perspective. The discussed issue aims to explain how the legal instruments used in public procurement can influence their effectiveness.
