Abstract
For public sector activities to be conducted in a way that inspires the trust of their participants, the entities performing their activities in this sector must comply with principles of objectivity, impartiality and equal treatment. With this in mind, it is essential that public procurement procedures eliminate any conflicts of interest in relation to anyone acting on the side of the contracting authority. The provisions of Directive 2014/24/EU, defining „conflict of interest”, oblige Member States to adopt solutions that will allow contracting authorities to prevent and eliminate conflicts of interest, but do not impose specific solutions on national legislators.
