Abstract
Along with digitisation and standardisation, the professionalisation of staff is one of the challenges that the public procurement system and its stakeholders will face in the coming years. In the opinion of the President of the Public Procurement Office (PPO), before commencing work on a strategic document setting out the framework for discussions and actions in the area of professionalisation, it was necessary to conduct a survey among contracting authorities and contractors in order to identify the current status, as well as the directions for professionalisation. This article discusses the most important conclusions from that survey. In addition, the PPO has prepared a concept document on professionalisation entitled “The activities of the President of the Public Procurement Office supporting the professionalisation of staff.”. This document attempts to define the scope of activities in the area of professionalisation of public procurement on the part of entities related to stakeholders in the public procurement system that are a crucial focus for the activities of the president of the Public Procurement Office. Moreover, the areas of activity of the President of the Public Procurement Office were identified from the subject side in relation to current and future activities undertaken by the President in the area of professionalisation.
