Abstract
The implementation of the new PPL is a major challenge for all participants of the public procurement market. This is due not only to the innovative construction of the new law or the extended approach to the procurement process implemented by this law. It is also because a wide group of contracting authorities must be involved in the process of changing attitudes towards procurement processes, given that the approach philosophy is quite different, particularly with regard to contracts valued at below the EU thresholds. The president of the Public Procurement Office is aware of the special role played in the initial period of implementing new regulations. The Office is already acting, and is planning to act further in order to help, initially, all the smaller participants of the public procurement market, both contracting authorities and contractors. These actions include activities that are primarily effective in the short term, i.e. spreading awareness of the new law, offering training and template documents. The longer-term activities are equally important; they include mainly education and training professionals who specialise in this area.
