Abstract

In banking activities, solutions based on the use of new technologies are increasingly used. In addition to the traditional written form in carrying out banking activities, it is permissible to submit declarations of intent in electronic form. Documents relating to banking activities may be effected on computer data carriers providing they are duly created, recorded, transmitted, stored and protected. In particular, attention should be paid to the form and manner in which the data is stored. Nowadays, centralised registers are being replaced by distributed and decentralized databases. This issue seems to be particularly important due to the bank’s obligation to keep the database in a way that ensures the security and integrity of the documents contained therein. Therefore, the use of blockchain technology will be an important issue as regards this aspect of banking activity.
