Abstract

In the above article, the author analyses the impact of the new EU regulation - the Digital Services Act - on recommendation systems used by digital platforms. The article focuses on the obligations regarding transparency and accountability of recommendation systems, emphasizing the requirements to explain the mechanisms of content selection by algorithms and to provide users with greater control. The article highlights the importance of avoiding bias and discrimination in the recommendation process, and also addresses the impact of recommendation systems on privacy protection and public safety.
