Abstract
The article analyses the concept of electronic control of parking fees. E-checks will allow for remote checking - using cameras placed on special vehicles passing through a paid parking zone - whether the parking of a vehicle has been paid for. The cameras will scan registration numbers of vehicles left in the zone, and the collected information will be forwarded to the ICT system, which will verify payment. The point of reference for these considerations is the e-check implementation project in Warsaw. The author presents the opportunities and problems that may arise at the stage of launching the system. The main barrier may be the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.
