Abstract

The article discusses legal regulations concerning the data protection officer contained in the provisions of the new personal data protection act. The author compares the provisions of the act with the provisions of Regulation 2016/679 and evaluates concordance of national regulations with the EU laws. Among other things, the issues of appointment, notification of a supervisory authority, disclosure of PDO’s data and transitional provisions have been analysed in detail.
