Abstrakt
The European Commission recognises public procurement as an important tool for spending public funds in order to respond to social, environmental and economic challenges. The highest quality of public procurement is to be achieved, among other things, through the professionalisation of procurement professionals. To this end, the ProcurCompEU-European Competency Framework for Procurement Professionals was issued. It also includes competencies that have an impact on the professionalisation of green public procurement. This paper aims to explain the ProcurCompEU framework for green public procurement. The main conclusion of this paper is that the professionalisation of green public procurement can lead to an increase in green public procurement, as well as its share in the public procurement market, which can contribute to neutralising the effects of climate change.
