Abstrakt
The new Hungarian Labour Code of 2012 aimed to provide enhanced flexibility. The article summarises the objectives and basic concept of the labour law reform and gives a detailed assessment of the changes concerning the system of termination of employment. While the authors point out important fields affected by substantive changes, the overall evaluation is that the fundamental structure of the regulation remained intact. New rules on the protection of union officials against dismissal and the reformed sanction system for unlawful termination are highlighted as the most debatable elements of the new regulation.
