Approving codes of conduct under Art. 40 of the GDPR. Legal and technological aspects of the process of code assessment by supervisory authorities on the example of the codes already approved in the EU Member States

Abstract
The article discusses selected, so far adopted decisions of national supervisory authorities approving codes of conduct under the GDPR. They provide a benchmark for analysing the process of assessing codes of conduct submitted to supervisory authorities for approval. The text identifies the key areas of such assessment and develops conclusions indicating the legal and technological aspects taken into account by supervisory authorities when issuing opinions on the submitted codes of conduct.
