Abstract

The article attempts to locate the institution of a court-assigned attorney in administrative court proceedings and assess legal regulations in this area. For this purpose, in the first place, the nature of administrative court proceedings has been outlined, including so-called compulsory representation by a lawyer and the right to legal aid. Then, the institution of a court-assigned attorney in administrative court proceedings has been presented, including their appointment and remuneration procedure. The research analysis covered in particular the provisions of the Act of 30 August 2002 on proceedings before administrative courts (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2019, item 2325 as amended) governing the procedure for the ex-officio assignment of a professional attorney.
