Abstract
Abortion law in Poland is an issue that has become particularly important after the Constitutional Tribunal’s judgment of 22 October 2020. The current legal situation appears to be extremely restrictive in light of the existing European standards shaped by both the European Court of Human Rights and international organizations. The degree of protection of the rights of pregnant women in individual European countries, analysed in the article, clearly indicates the insufficient degree of protection by Polish law of the requirements set out in the European Convention on Human Rights.
