Abstract
The article presents a practical analysis of the advance payment for expenses in civil proceeding (Art. 1304 of the Code of Civil Procedure), with special emphasis on the advance for a court expert’s remuneration. The analysis encompasses the appropriate procedural form of obliging a party to pay an advance for expenses, the correct setting of a time limit for payment to be made by a party based outside the European Union, the main criterion for establishing the appropriate addressee of this obligation, as well as the sanction for failure to pay the advance.
