Abstract

The article provides a brief overview of certain regulatory and ethical issues concerning the use, exploitation and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) under the current regulations in Poland. In particular, the authors make an introduction to the basic aspects and terms relating to AI. Furthermore, the article discusses the main arguments for and against adopting the concept of legal personality of AI and its potential consequences. The next section of the article analyses applicability of the intellectual property rights regulatory framework to AI, with special focus on copyright protection. Finally, the article offers a commentary on matters relating to liability of AI producers and third parties, including potential penal liability of natural persons.
