Abstract
The organization of supervision of the financial market in Poland has been changed. Currently, the Office of the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority is a state legal person, and the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority is its body. At the same time, the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority remained competent with respect to supervision of the financial market, which is a specific construction arousing many interpretative doubts. The rules for financing supervision of the financial market have been modified – the financing of the Office of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority has been excluded from the general state budget and is now considerably independent. The composition of the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority has been enlarged to include representatives of the Prime Minister, the Bank Guarantee Fund, the President of the Competition and Consumer Protection Office, and of the minister - member of the Council of Ministers responsible for coordinating the activities of special services. Moreover, the group of entities that can be provided with access to information relating to the work of the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority has been also enlarged.
