Abstract

This is the first part of an article dealing with an extremely important issue – actions taken by Polish courts as regards service of requests for legal assistance or interviewing a person who is staying abroad. It explains the basic principles for drafting all legal assistance requests and service of documents sent abroad, and outlines the legal basis for sending put such requests in criminal cases. The discourse has been concluded with practical information concerning cross-border direct service.
