Abstract
The article discusses the procedure for selection and appointment of a candidate for a vacant position of a court bailiff from among interested candidates. The author analyses the case-law, the statements of the grounds and the type of criteria used by the Minister of Justice for the selection of a candidate for a vacant position of a court bailiff from among interested candidates. The author also put forward a de lege ferenda postulate that the filling of such vacancies be carried through a competitive procedure aimed at testing the knowledge, skills, predisposition and general capabilities necessary to perform court bailiff’s duties.
