Abstract
The article describes the activities under the PHAEDRA project “Improving Practical and Helpful cooperAtion bEtween Data PRotection Authorities”, co-funded by the European Union under its Fundamental Rights and Citizenship programme. Implemented by a consortium comprising four partners from Belgium, United Kingdom, Spain and Poland the project was consistent with the EU and global scenario of consolidating activities in the field of international data protection. The PHAEDRA project resulted in the conclusion that improving practical cooperation between data protection authorities seemed to be an essential element of effective enforcement of the right to privacy and data protection. The project concluded with a series of recommendations on best elements for improving cooperation between DPAs.
