Abstract
The article discussed the new Code of Ethics for legal counsellors adopted on 22 November 2014 by the Extraordinary National Congress of Legal Counsels. The discussion focuses on both the context of work on the new Code, in particular extension of professional entitlements of legal counsels to criminal defence, as well as proposals submitted during the debates and the ultimate form of the adopted act. The discussion covers inter alia changes with respect to general definition of legal counsels’ role, model of client relationship, conflict of interests, marketing of legal services and remuneration for legal counsels.
